CAMMARATA NAMED SABRES NEW ASSISTANT COACH

Jan 12, 2024

The Badlands Sabres of the NA3HL have recently come to terms with new assistant coach Nick Cammarata. Cammarata comes to the Sabres with a lot of hockey experience as a player and coach. The former defenseman played college hockey at Merrimack NCAA D1 where he spent 4 season and receiving a degree in business management. He spent roughly 4 seasons in the professional ranks, playing for various teams in the ECHL, SPHL, and overseas in Italy.

“What I bring to the organization is the experience and knowledge I have gained over the years from not only playing D1 and pro, but learning from some of the great coaches I have had the pleasure of working with over the last few years” says Cammarata. “I have been able to build relationships that will allow me to help on the recruiting front and bring in not only great players but great people. I feel this experience will help our players learn what it takes to get to the next level on the ice as well as off.”

The Canton Massachusetts native comes to the Sabres after seeing some time behind the bench for the Vernal Oilers of the USPHL as an assistant coach and interim head coach. In the same season, he took on a roll as a bench boss with the NA3HL Texas Brahmas where he finished the season winning a division title. He has spent the most recent season with the Boston Jr Bruins of the NCDC as director of recruiting.

“I have known the Hodge family for years and after talking with Brendan, Danny , Vern, and Head Coach Brooks Mitzel it was an easy decision to join the Badland Organization. This organization’s leaders are dedicated to not only winning games but also developing players to get them to the next level and that is what an NA3 organization should be about, providing the tools for players to reach their dream of playing at the next level on and off the ice”.
